The Lopez Acting Master Program is the Premier Acting Training Program for TEENS in Northern Virginia. Lopez Studios, Inc. has a long history and strong reputation for quality training that can and has lead to success in the industry. We are excited to expand that training to the craft of acting. 

Students will explore, challenge and sharpen their skills while learning the methods of the craft. They will further develop the passion and discipline it takes to become a working professional actor. This program is designed for students ages 13-18 to propel them to the next level. 

The program includes Master Acting Courses, a Screen Acting Intensive, as well as a Professional Style Play at a Professional Theatre Venue. 

LAMP is a 4 Month  Educational Program (Sept. - Dec.)

ACCEPTANCE INTO THE PROGRAM

We are so excited for you to audition for LAMP! Please remember when preparing that while we are auditioning with the show in mind, we are simply looking for members who show a desire and willingness to grow in the program. Our decisions will be made based on student’s ability to show talent, work ethic and passion for THEATRE. No prior experience is required! Notifications of entry into the program will be sent out within a week following auditions. Please note that roles for our selected show WILL NOT be allocated until the Kick-Off for the program. As an educational program we prioritize the growth and development of our members and will not allocate roles until after we have selected members for the program. 

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

• Accepting students ages 13-18
• Auditions are scheduled for Sunday, September 24, 2023 (1-3PM)
• Accepting actors ages 13 – 18 (performers must not be older than a senior in high school)
• All those who audition must sign up for an audition group. Each audition group will include an individual monologue portion & group cold read portion. Please be aware that you must stay for the entire audition in order to be considered for acceptance into the program.
• Please prepare a ONE MINUTE Contemporary Monologue. This does not have to be memorized.
• Please be prepared to read a cold scene with others. 
• Please  bring a recent Head Shot as well as a recent resume if one is available.

The Actor’s Method

(Master Courses)

Master Acting Courses are scheduled Sundays at 1:00PM - 2:00PM

The Actor’s Method – These premier master courses will help build a foundation for your young actor as they develop and sharpen their craft. Students will learn the techniques and methods of the world’s most influential theatre practitioners. Our unique Screen Acting Intensive will create a well-rounded training experience for them as they develop their craft in all facets. The students then showcase these skills in their spring performance of a full-length play which will be held in a local professional theatre venue.

Course 1: AN ACTOR PREPARES ( Oct. 1st – Oct. 8th Students will be introduced to the foundations of modern acting. Developed by Konstantin Stanislavskij, these techniques will serve as the basis for all of their training.

Course 2: RESPECT FOR ACTING Oct. 15th – Oct. 29th  Based on Uta Hagen’s book, students will expand on the techniques of the previous course, and begin to develop a more detailed practice. They will learn how to use their own experiences and imagination to create a real world for their characters to live in.

Course 3: ON ACTING Nov. 5th – Nov 19th  

After building a strong technical foundation, students strengthen their craft further by practicing techniques pioneered by Sanford Meisner. These techniques will allow them to connect with their scene partners more deeply, find truth within the portrayals of their characters, and truly live in the worlds that they will be asked to create.

Screen Acting Intensive December 3rd  

This Screen Acting Intensive will teach students how to perform to camera. Our challenging and unique intensive will push students to understand the difference between stage & screen. Learning important techniques and skills, including how to create their own screen test.  

Rehearsals will generally be held Sundays, 2:30-5:00PM 

Attendance is key to success in the program. Availability and attendance will affect acceptance and role allocation. 

LAMP SHOW - TBA

• We will be announcing the show after auditions based on the the cohort for the program

• The reason for this is we want to ensure that the show best showcases and highlights the students in the program. 

• LAMP is an educational program that offers a full professional style performance experience.

TECH & SHOW DATES: DEC. 15-16 2023 (2 Shows)

SHOW THEATRE: FRANKLIN PARK ARTS CENTER

TUITION: $1350 per student

-3 Monthly Installment Payment Plan Available- ($450/month) X 3

Tuition includes all Acting Master Courses, Screen Acting Intensive, Intense Rehearsals, and The Final Professional Production at a professional theatre venue. (show rights, theatre venue, 4 complimentary tickets to final production and production staff)

LAMP is a 3 Month  Educational Program (Oct. - Dec.)
